The Chairman, Irewole Local Government, Osun state, Hon. Remi Abbas has been reportedly impeached by his councillors for alleged gross misconduct and maladministration.
It was gathered in a letter forwarded to the Chairman Local Government Service Commission through the council manager of Irewole Local Government, the impeachment of Remi Abbas on Tuesday, 30 April.
The legislators accused him of financial misappropriation.
In the letter, “There were allegations of financial impropriety against the Chairman and a committee was set up to look deeply into the matter. In the course of further investigation, the Parliamentarians moved a motion of suspension”
It was also confirm that the legislators have nominated and sworn in Hon. Sulaiman Ojekunle from Ward 2, Irewole Local Government to act as chairman.
They claimed that “The Parliament in their unanimous decision took the step to save the face of Government and to serve as deterrent to others involved in similar scandal.”
