Recently the Southwest Governors launched a security outfit called Amotekun, it’s still generating a lot of heat within the country, during the week an elder statesman share his opinion on the matter.

Amotekun not threat to Nigeria’s unity — Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said that the recent formation of the Amotekun security outfit by the South-West governors has not put the foundation of the country at risk.

Rather, he said the South-West regional security outfit launched by the governors of the zone in a bit to confront the insecurity in their states.

“Those claiming that this limited, inoffensive addition to security threatens the Republic have taken themselves upon a madcap excursion,” Tinubu said.

Fani-Kayode explodes as Miyetti Allah tells Buhari to arrest Yoruba leaders immediately

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has dared the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to arrest the Yoruba leaders promoting the establishment of the new security outfit, Amotekun in the South West.

Fani-Kayode said this while reacting to the call made by the National President General of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo to arrest the Yoruba leaders endorsing Amotekun.

INFOMATENG.COM had reported that Bodejo said FG should not just stop at banning the outfit but should arrest those involved in making decisions for its creation with immediate effect.

Tinubu Is Dumb – Femi Fani Kayode

Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s, statement on the establishment of the Southwest security outfit, Amotekun.

Tinubu had on Wednesday called for private discussion between the Governors of the South-west and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, over Amotekun.

He said the foundation of the country had not been put at risk with the South-west regional security outfit launched by the governors of the zone in a bid to confront the insecurity in their respective states.

Tinubu is dumb

But reacting, FFK said Tinubu’s statement on Amotekun was an attempt to defend Buhari government.


On the 23rd of January, 2020, The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, held a closed door meeting with South West Governors over the dispute fencing the Amotekun ambition.

The meeting was fecund and agreeable verdict were made by the Federal Government and all the South West Governors.

Federal Government also instructed the Governors that the structure of Amotekun should abide by Community Policing Strategy of the Federal Government.

The Federal Government and the South West Governors also agreed that necessary legal instruments will be put in place by each of the States to give legal backing to the initiative and address all issues as regards the regulation of the security structure.

Also during the week, the insurgents Boko Haram beheaded Adamawa Can chairman in an even that has raised a lot of dusts in the nation.

Boko Haram Rejected N50m Ransom For Adamawa Clergyman Before Beheading Him

Facts have emerged on how Boko Haram terrorists rejected a N50m ransom and went ahead to behead Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in Michika, Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi on Monday.

The insurgents had demanded for £2m (N946m) but was only offered N50m, infuriating the terrorists, who soon turned their anger on the victim, according to CAN chairman in the state, Stephen Dami Mamza.

He said, “Pastor Lawan was beheaded yesterday.

“Negations were still ongoing when they stopped calling. They were offered N50m but they rejected it.

“They called his wife last week, informing her that they will be beheading him on Saturday but somehow they waited till Monday.

Femi Adesina under fire for attacking CAN over Adamawa Clergyman execution

Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) has lambasted the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, for attacking the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), following its reaction to the murder of Reverend Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram.

Andimi, the Chairman of CAN in Michika Local government area of Adamawa state by Boko Haram, was beheaded by the insurgents.

CAN on Thursday rejected the reaction of President Buhari to the killing.

Adesina in a post on his Facebook page on Friday accused the Christian leaders of labeling Buhari an “anti-christian”.

In its reaction, the NCGF said it understood the the tragedy of a man hired to market a bad product.

The Christian group asked Adesina to inform Buhari to tell Nigerians what was special about his Service Chiefs that he had retained them despite Nigeria’s insecurity.

Pregnant Nigerian Women To Be Denied United States Visa Under New Policy

The United States Government on Thursday gave visa officers more power to block pregnant women abroad including those from Nigeria from visiting America.

Under a new rule, the US Department of State directed visa officers to stop “birth tourism” — trips designed to obtain citizenship for children of pregnant women to the country.

The President Donald Trump’s administration is using the new rule, which takes effect on Friday, to push consular officers abroad to reject women they believe are entering the United States specifically to gain citizenship for their child by giving birth.

29 Nigerian words added to Oxford dictionary

A total of 29 Nigerian words and expressions have been included in the latest January 2020 updates of Oxford English Dictionary.

Some of the words included are ‘Ember Month’, ‘Danfo’, ‘Non-indigene’, ‘Guber’, ‘Tokunbo’, ‘MamaPut’, ‘Kannywood ‘Next Tomorrow’, among others
